The Legacy Expansion Project

Our 1959 Lake Berkeley Chapel building will be celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2019. While significant improvements have been made over the years, it is our hope to take the next step at this important milestone. The Legacy Expansion Project is a plan to do just that — to build a new sanctuary, with a view to the lake, next to the existing 60-year old building, which will be used as a fellowship hall.
The addition of a new sanctuary space and renovation of this iconic piece of Berkeley Lake history will add value to our local faith community for years to come. Elevating the facilities to a higher standard will enhance our monthly worship experience and increase its attractiveness for the rental income which sustains it.
The new chapel building design is being worked on by a planning committee and once completed will be revealed to all. Fundraising events have begun, and other events are planned to acquire the funds to continue the legacy of the Lake Berkeley Chapel.
The Brick Fundraiser

4×8-inch engraved red clay bricks will replace the current crushed asphalt paths in the lakeside gazebo garden. We are dubbing these celebration paths with the personal messages reflecting your family’s joy. The engravings can honor lake life, family, friends, pet, a veteran, children, grandchildren, love, marriage, peace, happiness, fishing, sports, living in our great country, health, memorials, and similar non-political sentiments.
Each brick will be engraved in black capital letters with a two or three-line message (up to 17 characters per line). As batches of (100+) bricks are engraved, they will be installed beginning at the gazebo steps and continuing to cover the entire path. The brick price is $100, or three for $250.
Your Support is Appreciated
In addition to the brick fundraiser, we are also seeking tax-deductible donations from individuals. We are very blessed by generous initial commitments, including several thousand dollars and pro bono contractor work. Lake Berkeley Chapel, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit religious charity.
